Sunday School
Sunday School meets during the school year during our Formation Hour, from 9:20 – 10:20 a.m. We’re always glad to welcome children who are visiting or coming to Sunday School for the first time – come to the Youth Room and our staff will help you get oriented and introduce you to your class leaders.
Sunday School adds to the important learning that kids are doing at home and in worship, where we learn the habits and practices of faith. In Sunday School, we dig deeper into the story of God’s love, exploring the stories of the Bible that we hear in worship each week. We gather for the first 15 minutes for a Large-Group Opening time of song and prayer, then meet for class time. Our engaging Spark! curriculum helps us to see the connections between God’s Story and our lives.
A number of times throughout the year, our Sunday Schoolers serve together in worship leadership – reading scripture, inviting us into prayer, serving at God’s table. We believe that the Spirit calls and equips us all for ministry, and as a congregation we treasure opportunities to learn from and with our young people.
Vacation Bible School
Every summer we look forward to our special week of exploring the God’s love together – with singing and crafts, with games and prayer, with Bible stories and with general silliness!
Hands-On Worship
From time to time, one of our worship services will be a Hands-On service, with a more interactive and hands-on approach to exploring scripture in place of the sermon. Our tradition of a Hands-On Holy Week service for young people helped us realize that, in fact, kids and grown-ups alike need the opportunity to engage our whole selves in worship!
