ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Augsburg Adult Bible Study:
gathers in the Conference Room with the Augsburg series, by Augsburg Fortress, for an hour. The Augsburg series offers timely topics for discussion based on selected books of the Bible. Participants may visit or drop in any Sunday morning. Every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. through the school year; 9:15 a.m. in the summer.
Books of the Bible
Noted author Walter Wangerin, Jr. leads a study on the Books of the Bible. Beginning January 2010, the winter;spring session worked through the book of Genesis. In the fall of 2010, the Gospel of John was begun and continued through Spring 2011. Fall of 2011 the study will focus on Galations and 1 Corinthians. The study group meets on Monday evenings from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. All are invited to atend whenever possible.
Youth Bible Study
for high school and middle school students, this study looks at world issues through the lens of faith and Scripture. Led by Laurie Ludwig, youth director. Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. follows school schedule.
'Tis A Gift Bible Study:
Meets on alternate Sunday evenings from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at the church. This Bible Study has been in existence for many years, however new members are always welcome. Contact the church for more information.
Priscilla Circle (Women’s Daytime Bible Study):
meets in the Conference Room every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00- 2:30 p.m. during the school year. Enjoys monthly lunches over the summer months. PRISCILLA CIRCLE engages in lively conversations to learn from one another as the women study biblical texts.
The Spiritual Life In Home Study Group:
meets in participants’ homes on the first and third Tuesday evenings, beginning at 7:00 p.m. This is a study group for those who want to dig a little deeper into what it means to live life in relationship with God.
Men's Group
gathers once a month on the first Saturday of the month in the Church Hall for breakfast, Bible Study and fellowship. Currently using Master Builder's Bible for Men study guide.
WOMEN's Bible study
meets every Tuesday evening from 7:15- 8:30 p.m. at the church. Currently using the Book "Praying the Names of Jesus" by Ann Spangler. This study group collects change at every meeting to help "change the world". Monies collected are then donated to varying charities that the group decides on. The Women's Bible Study has also been instrumental in hosting Keri Burman portrayals of Women in the Bible- Queen Esther, Mary Magdalene, Mary of Nazareth, etc. Grace Safrin is the facilitator of the group.
Nickels and Dimes Add Up (NDAU)
A social issue group that is developing from a study of Barbara Ehnreihnrech's book "Nickle and Dimed On (not) getting by In America" . This group is seeking involvement with New Creation Ministries (a local men's shelter), but is also meeting on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month for planning/debriefing involvement as well as prayer and the reading of Scripture and various articles surrounding poverty issues. Meeting at Uptown Coffee Company.
Welcome to CLC
Sometimes called the PASTOR’S CLASS. The number of sessions, as well as the day and time varies to suit the participants. Please call the church office at 462-6660 to indicate your interest in these classes. Throughout the year, there are several new member celebrations -- opportunities for fellowship and refreshments on Sunday morning.
- For adults desiring to learn more about the Lutheran tradition, the catechism, and discipleship, there are usually three sessions with the Pastor.
- For adults desiring to make Christ Lutheran Church their church home, there is a session on stewardship and a session to help new members assimilate into the church family.
Christ Lutheran Retreat
A yearly 3-day retreat is a time for Christ Lutheran members to learn, meditate, pray, worship and fellowship together.
